Project Description Construction of a new 2 story Student Union facility, as well as remodeling & rehab of existing attached library for the California State University at Channel Islands, including demolition of the existing single story cast-in-palace concrete wing (approximately 1,800 square feet), concrete walls, other site structures, and underground utilities on and off-site, abatement of hazardous materials inside the building, in the existing crawl space and encasing underground utilities on and off-site. The new two story building (15,000 square feet) will house dining, lounge and food service facilities and complete kitchen on the ground floor and office space on the second floor, toilet rooms, storage, electrical/IT closets and related spaces are included in the new structure. New steel braced frame with suspended concrete/metal deck floor and roof supported on concrete spread foundation system to replace the demolished wing.
